Gillian is a Physiotherapist and senior lecturer in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Science, at the University of Cape Town (UCT) who has a keen interest in children with motor coordination difficulties. After her PhD, which explored the motor function of children with neuro-developmental disabilities, more specifically, developmental coordination disorder in low-income schools, her research interests has expanded into other areas of developmental disability to include children with autism and children with generalized joint hyper mobility syndrome, extending to physical activity and fitness in adolescents linked to sport.
